  • Can you add little extras to your booking?

    Yes, we have three optional extra packages Fire Package - which can be used on the fire pit and the log burner outside Celebration package - are you visiting us for an anniversary or a mini moon Birthday Package - banners and silk petals Robe Hire for two for the duration of your stay Early and Late Check In Available subject to availability Alpaca Feeding on a morning with us More details can be found on the extras when making a booking :)

  • How do we book?

    We have a chose of five shepherd huts, by clicking on the 'Book Now' button which can be found at the top right or in the middle of our homepage. It will take you to our booking page where you can select the hut and can look at more pictures and description.

  • What time can we check in/out?

    Check in times are after 4pm. Check out times are 10am. We do offer early and late checkout subjects to availability

  • What makes your Huts so special?

    All our Huts are larger than average with kingsize beds, En-Suite bathrooms with shower, well equipped kitchen areas, log burners & thermostat controlled under floor heating, FREE wifi along with a smart TV, and two huts have hot tubs. We are quick access into the centre of York or the local shopping centre York Designer Outlet

  • How do we find you?

    We’re only 10 minutes drive from the centre of York, around 30 minutes drive from Leeds. Our Huts are situated in their own private paddock but close enough to nearby amenities. Have a look at our “Contact Page” page for our full address, contact details and interactive map.

  • What's included in our stay?

    All our Huts come with a welcome pack including tea, coffee and a selection of mints and a small carton of milk. Towels and bed linen are all provided too along with toiletries on arrival. We have added FREE range eggs, which can be collect as and when needed from our hen hut

  • Can we pay a deposit?

    50% of the payment is due at the time of booking (non refundable) and the final 50% is due 14 days before arrival. We do not give refunds on any bookings made 14 days before arrival date. In the event of a cancellation by us, our liability shall be limited to the return in full the monies paid, our liability would not extend beyond that.

  • Is your website safe?

    Yes, our website is protected by a 256 bit SSL certificate to ensure all your data and details are kept safe.

  • Do you allow pets?

    Unfortunately not, as we have horses, sheep, chickens, Alpacas close by.

  • Do you allow smoking ?

    We do not allow smoking in our huts, we do allow smoking outside in our allocated area located near the communal bins however we ask that you clear away cigarette ends in the ash bin provided

  • Do you take children?

    We are an adult only site

  • What services are in the hut?

    We have provided, smoke alarms, carbon monoxides, fire blankets and fire extinguishers

  • Can your huts sleep more than 2 people?

    Unfortunately, our Shepherd Huts cannot safely sleep any more than 2 people (Being Adults Only)

  • Do any of your shepherd huts have hot tubs?

    Three of our shepherd huts have hot tubs, Jacob, Cotswold and Herdwick. More details can be found on each hut on our website

  • Do you have parking?

    We have parking for 1 car next to each shepherd. We ask guests to keep to the designated parking place for the hut that you have booked. We don't have the facilities for extra cars on site

  • Do you take group bookings?

    We do, we ask before you book to contact us directly to ensure the booking is made by the individuals staying in the shepherd hut and to confirm to our terms and conditions

  • More about your animals?

    - Our Alpacas are in the field either next to the shepherd huts or close by, we rotate them around the fields. - Our Sheep are normally roaming free in the field in front of the shepherd huts but can occasionally be in the paddocks -Our horse and shetland or normally in the same fields and can be seen from the huts, you may hear Casper the horse neighing on a morning. -Our chickens are let out free throughout the day and will pop over to the huts, they are very friendly and cheeky. Rest assured you can shush them away and they will leave you alone, they love food so if encouraged they won't be far away.

  • Are you a working farm?

    We are a small mini working farm, and you may experience farm machinery around and about, this includes we cut our hay field in front of the huts for the animals to feed over winter. This takes place anytime from June to the end of September.

    We do and love for our guests to send in pictures of your experience while staying with us.   • What do your guests say?

  • Do you take a damage deposit?

    Yes, we take a pre-authorisation on all our bookings being £100.00 three days before your arrival. This isnt taking any money from your account. It is a charge which will show on your pending transaction and you bank may limit your spending. Once you check out we check over the hut is there is any damage, excess cleaning or breakages and cancel the authorisation. This can take up to 14 days to show again in your account depending on your bank. Please note some banks dont allow pre-authorisations, and without this we cannot release any codes to access the huts. We would then ask for the balance and return it within 14 days.

  • Do you allow hen/stag parties?

    Sorry no we dont, we allow group bookings but we ask for the this to made over the phone before proceeding.

  • What is your minimum stay?

    We offer 1 night stays from Sunday to Thursday evening Two nights minimum from Friday and Saturday.

  • Do you allow visitors on site that are not staying?

    We do not allow any extra guests to be present on site only permitted guests are allowed, this is due to safety and our license. We understand you may be dropped off by a family member or friend but we ask that they do not stay due to other guests around on the site.

  • Do you offer more parking?

    We are strictly only one parking space per hut, this is strictly due to licensing and access. A site plan is sent allocating the space you are provided depending on the hut you have booked.

  • How do we access the huts?

    Access is from our key lock box, the code is sent to you at your check in time on the day of your arrival, everything is self check in so you can arrive whenever is convenient for you from 4pm. We ask for the key to be added back in the lock box when you vacate ready for our cleaners at 10am to enter the huts.

  • Do you need a car while staying with us?

    No you dont, we advice you do but it isnt essential. We have many recommend taxi firms listed on our website - https://www.springwoodshepherdhuts.co.uk/things-to-do/ Also a bus service that runs regularly and is only a 20/30 minute walk from us.

  • Are you close to the seaside?

    We are close to local beaches we have a list on our website https://www.springwoodshepherdhuts.co.uk/things-to-do/ the nearest being Filey 47.6 miles away.
