Nothing beats relaxing in a hot tub in the midst of winter. There’s something about defying the elements that makes it a particularly satisfying experience. 

Two shepherd huts at our glamping site come complete with this feature, bringing warmth and relaxation to even the chilliest Yorkshire winter. You’ll find that our shepherd huts are also snug and warm inside, providing everything you need to enjoy a tranquil winter getaway.

Our Cotswolds Hut and Herdwick Hut are perfect for anyone looking to book a relaxing break. 

Along with coming with a hot tub, you’ll enjoy a range of facilities that make your stay as comfortable and luxurious as possible, including underfloor heating, sumptuous towels, a log burner and fire pit.

Since our glamping site is adults only, you’ll also enjoy exceptional peace and quiet in the beautiful countryside outside York. 

Handcrafted and designed by our team, our shepherd huts offer a unique and memorable glamping experience. 

Outside the huts are fields that are home to our Hebridean Sheep and Alpacas, bringing you a rural ideal that’s both picturesque and close to attractions in the local area. We also have chickens, making it easy to enjoy fresh eggs!

Hot Tub Terms & Conditions

All hot tubs are emptied, cleaned and refilled after each stay, therefore the hot tubs may not be up to temperature until late evening, however we do half hot fill our hot tubs each time
Some of our shepherd huts have hot tubs and to ensure the safe and enjoyable use of the hot tubs we request that you read through and adhere to the rules of this safety document.

  • Not all our shepherd huts have hot tubs, each shepherd hut with a hot tub is for the use of those guests only.
  • We do not advise use of the hot tub during pregnancy, please contact your doctor for advice before entering the water.
  • People with skin, ear, genital or other body infections, open sores, or wounds should not use the hot tub because of the possibility of spreading infection or irritating your condition.
  • Persons with heart disease, diabetes, low or high blood pressure, or any serious illness should not enter the hot tub without prior consultation with their doctor.
  • Never use the hot tub while using or after using narcotics or other drugs that may cause sleepiness, drowsiness or raise/lower blood pressure.
  • The heat of the hot tub water speeds up the effects of alcohol and can cause sleepiness, dizziness and unconsciousness.
  • Avoid using the hot tub immediately after a heavy meal.
  • Do not immerse your head in the hot tub water.
  • Never use the hot tub alone.
  • Take care when entering and leaving the hot tub. When leaving the hot tub leg muscles may be relaxed enough to make you unsteady. Please use the stepping stones provided.
  • Never use glass near/in the hot tub, we have plastic cups/glasses provided
  • Do not take food into the hot tub
  • Do not use any electrical appliances near/in the hot tub.
  • If any fault or damage occurs with the hot tub please contact a member of our team at the earliest convenient moment. We will assess the damage and contact you accordingly
  • Shower with soap and water before and after using the hot tub. Showering before use washes away many of the common skin bacteria and removes lotions, deodorants, creams etc which reduce the effectiveness of the spa sanitizer which disinfects the water.
  • Do not add any liquid, soap into the hot tub
  • Do not sit or walk on the hot tub cover.
  • When hot tub is not in use please secure the lid
  • Avoid entering the hot tub water immediately after exercising as the water temperature can affect the heart rate.
  • Take care on the hot tub steps as water from the tub can cause it to be slippery.
  • If any allergic reaction occurs leave the hot tub and rinse off in the shower. If the reaction persists, contact 111 or go straight to A&E.
  • Do not turn hot tub isolation switch off as the hot tub’s power needs to be turned on to carry out the cleaning cycles.

Please note – To comply with HSE regulations the hot tub water is checked every day.

Cotswold Hut – Hot Tub

Cotswold’s Shepherd Hut with a hot tub.

Our Cotswold Shepherd Hut is an alpaca themed a relaxing glamping retreat close to York
Overlooking our open fields and you can see our Hebridean Sheep, Alpacas, Sheltand Pony, Horse and our Chickens that may lay you a few eggs in the hut to collect.
Our hut is fully equipped with there own unique style and finish, complete with its modern comforts to make your stay extra special and memorable.

As you walk through the main door your feet will feel the underfloor heating on in the colder months and you will reach a fully equipped, fitted kitchen area with two induction hobs, a microwave/oven, fridge with a small freezer, toaster, kettle, country style sink and all the cutlery, pots and pans you should ever need or want. There’s two breakfast stools to enjoy your breakfast or even sit by the log burner roaring away.

To the right is a king size bed, with Egyptian cotton linen, duvet and pillows two soft and two firm, there’s also a smart TV on a swivel mount so you can view it from all angles around the hut. At the end of the bed is a cosy sofa facing the cast iron log burner or you can even sit and relax watching the tv on an evening.

Looking to the left from the main door is a fully equipped bathroom with a shower cubicle and a mains shower, sink, toilet, heated towel rail and amazingly soft towels & face towels and complementary toiletries on arrival.

Storage hasn’t been forgotten either, storage can be found under your bed with two drawers and a storage cupboard space for hanging your clothes, to the left of the main door when you walk in. Along with an iron and ironing board and a tall fan for those hotter days in our summer months.

Outside you’re treated to seating beside a fire pit/BBQ, looking out onto the fields . The fire pit can be used as a BBQ. To the side of the hut we have a two person hot tub, we have added a bit of privacy to enjoy and relax looking out on to the field.

Herdwick Hut – Hot Tub

Herdwick Shepherd Hut hand crafted and designed by Springwood Shepherd Huts our small family business, you won’t find another Hut like ours.

Everything has been thought about to ensure guests have the most relaxing, cosy and most defiantly memorable stay! We have kept the traditional look of a shepherd huts but a twist with this hut giving you an alpaca look, to give the best glamping experience possible.

The front of Herdwick Hut has seating area to enjoy the stunning views of our open field, positioned at the end shown in images on our website. As you walk through the main doors is a a full equipped fitted kitchen area with 2 induction hobs, a microwave/oven, fridge with a small freezer, toaster, kettle, country style sink and all the cutlery, pots and pans you should ever need. There’s two beautiful breakfast bar stools to enjoy your breakfast or to sit by the log burner or even watch some TV.

To the right is a Kingsize bed, with Egyptian cotton linen, duvet and pillows, there is a Smart TV on a swivel mount so you can view it from all around the Hut. At the end of the bed is a cosy sofa facing the cast iron log burner, but don’t worry you’ll never be cold as there’s also underfloor heating throughout the whole Hut to keep you warm on even the coldest of days.

Looking to the left from the main door is a fully equipped bathroom with a shower cubicle and a mains shower, sink, toilet, heated towel rail and we provide amazingly soft towels, if you are wanting those added extras you can hire our soft dressing gowns.

Storage has not been forgotten, we have storage space for hanging your clothes, with an iron and ironing board and a tall fan for those extra warm days we have in summer.

We’ve saved the best till last outside we have seating with an fire pit while looking out on to the fields to our Hebridean Sheep or our Alpacas, our fire pit can be used as a BBQ, so dont forget those sausages!

To the side of the hut we have a two person hot tub, to relax and unwind in whatever the weather, sun, rain and snow.

Welcome to our Jacob Shepherd which is a charming and cosy Shepherd hut that accommodates two people, it offers luxurious and modern fitted comforts to make your stay more memorable and a relaxing private hot tub looking over our open field.

We offer a fully equipped, fitted kitchen area with two induction hobs, a microwave/oven, fridge with a small freezer, toaster, kettle, country style sink and all the cutlery, pots and pans you should ever need while staying in our huts. There’s two beautiful breakfast bar stools to enjoy your breakfast or even sit by the log burner relaxing.

To the right is a king size bed, with Egyptian cotton linen, duvet and pillows, there’s also a smart TV on a swivel mount so you can view it from all around the hut. At the end of the bed is a cosy sofa facing the cast iron log burner, don’t worry you’ll never be cold as there’s also underfloor heating throughout the whole hut to keep you warm and cosy in those winter cold days.

Looking to the left from the main door is a fully equipped bathroom with a shower cubicle and a mains shower, sink, toilet, heated towel rail and amazingly soft towels and complementary toiletries on arrival.

Great stay! I stayed here for my 30th birthday with my girlfriend & it was so lovely. Not only decorating it with birthday banners & shaping the towels into the number 30, we were welcomed with a clean, bright & cosy hut to spend a few days in. With great views & a hot tub to relax in, it was the perfect treat. Would definitely recommend!

Brilliant experience. I would highly recommend Springwood Shepherds Huts. Myself and my husband have had a wonderful 2 day stay at Springwood Shepherds Huts, York. We stayed in the Herdwick hut which was spotlessly clean. The bed and pillows were so comfy I had the best nights sleep. There is everything you need from crockery, glasses, pots and pans etc.. There is also a wood burner if needed. The hot tub was a real bonus. The interior was stylish and comfortable. The service from Eden was exceptional. All the information you may need was there in a booklet. Definitely going back there!!!!

Beautiful Countryside Getaway Would 100% recommend for anyone wanting a relaxing country break. We stayed in the Herdwick Hut for my birthday weekend and honestly could not fault it. Extremely clean and cosy, and beautifully decorated. The bed was so comfy, we slept brilliantly! Everything that we needed and more was provided in the hut, including a fully stocked kitchen and other useful items that I wouldn’t have even thought that we needed until we go there! The fire pit and hot tub were added bonuses and the location is perfect with no noise and so much nature to see. The detail and care put into these huts by the owners is obvious and we definitely will be booking again! 😍

Fantastic, cannot recommend enough We had a wonderful relaxing time here, so lucky to be the only people there over this weekend, So quiet and beautiful, the hut itself was equipped with everything that you could you wish for, the bed was super comfortable, and the hot tub was just perfect.
We are hoping to book for the week before Christmas,

glamping spent 2 nights in the cotswold hut with hot tub fantastic location so peaceful
looking out onto fields with alpacas sheep and chicken roaming free the hut had everything that you could need for your stay very comfortable very close to york owner very friendly and helpful the hot tub was a very welcome after a day round york will def be back again
